This last Sunday we talked about an idea I read in a book titled Sticky Church written by North Coast Church pastor, Larry Osborn. It was a thought that has really stuck with me and got me to reevaluate a lot of things.
He said, essentially this, “We are Legos.”
Every Lego block has “connectors.” You’ve seen how they work. If you have kids, you’ve probably even stepped on a few. They have connection points on the top. Connection points on the bottom. They come in various sizes but they all have one thing in common: Each block has a given number of connection points. Once these points are filled up, nothing more can be connected.
We all have limited numbers of connection points relationally, emotionally, physically and socially.
If you are worn out after the holidays look at all your connections points! I bet they are maxed out!
My thought for your week: Christmas is done. Turn off the phone. Get some hot tea. Sit down & spend some time with God.
Mathew 11: 28-30 28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
