Do you know how much difference there is between a doctor, a surgeon, and a mechanic? Not much!
I was talking to my father’s cardiologist a few years ago, and he told me, “When it comes to the heart, the problems are usually related to one of two things. It’s either plumbing or electrical.” I’m sure many auto mechanics out there would say the same thing!
We have mechanics that work on our cars and trucks. And, have mechanics that work on our bodies! And we have a fantastic mechanic for our soul! – Jesus. Fortunately for us, He LOVES to fix things!
Throughout His ministry here on earth, Jesus was getting his hands dirty fixing bodies, souls, spirits, and minds. He, specifically and intentionally, put himself into situations where he could fix someone. He constantly sat, ate and lived with those who were broken, troubled and in need of repair.
He’s referred to as the Great Physician. He IS the Great Healer. But I like to think of Him as the Great Mechanic!
Christ STILL loves to fix things. He’s STILL able, willing and ready. All we need to do is call on Him!
Here’s my weekly “To Do” for you: Take an inventory of your life; not your entire life. Just your life “this” week. Look to find your broken places. We all have them. – I have many. Go to the place where you can pray best. Give your broken places to Him – every day. He will give you healing. Maybe not the healing you expect. It will be the healing that you need.
My Thought for your week Jesus LOVES to fix broken things!
